Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference

The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Conference is an annual event at The University of Alabama that allows Undergraduates to highlight their work in Research or Creative fields.

The event presents a wide variety of research and creative activities and gives the contributing students practical experience in defending or performing their work. Judges evaluate the works and the winning entries receive a cash prize. “The thrill of discovery students experience by working with a faculty mentor to produce their own new research findings, an exciting work of art, or other intellectual accomplishment is an ideal stepping stone to a productive career, regardless of major,” says Dr. David Franko, head of the new UA Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Committee.

The conference was initiated in 2002 by the College of Arts and Sciences and has grown to include the whole campus with over 200 participants in 2009. Through the collaborative efforts of the Office for Research, the College Undergraduate Research Coordinators, the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Committee, and faculty mentors this has become a premier annual event at The University of Alabama.
